At last time for another update!

It’s been almost two weeks since my last post. And we’ve been busy. On august the 8th me, Rob and Vicky went out to find an apartment near the Marco Polo area, It’s an area where a lot of foreigners live, and there are a lot of nice apartments there. The Marco Polo area is also fairly close to Xiamen University. We visited an agency there, but they didn’t really have anything interesting for us at that time. The agency made a few calls and after an hour or so we went to Pearl Bay to look for an apartment over there. Pearl bay is also near Xiamen University and like the name says, it’s near the beach! We went there looking for one apartment at 15:00, it wasn’t very good and it smelled like hell. It was a two bedroom apartment tho, and also fully furnished. The 2nd apartment we wanted to see over there was bigger for the same price, but the landlord of that apartment called and told us he didn’t have time to show us around. On the way out the security guard of the buildings asked us if we were looking for a place, this guy wanted to make some money and showed us another apartment. It was really big, and within the price range. However this apartment was very old and didn’t look good at all. The walls were a mess and the furniture wasn’t good. After this we also gave up on Pearl Bay and we started walking down the road to find something near Xiamen University. We ended at a place near the software school of Xiamen University, where we went to an agency to ask what they could offer us. The lady at the agency showed us a few apartments and she took us to the place where we live now. That evening around 18:00 we finally signed the contract after looking for an apartment all day.

Last Wednesday on august the 10th me and Rob moved out of the Hotel and went to our new apartment. At first everything seemed fine, it’s a very nice fully furnished apartment. There was a catch tho… The apartment is on the 7th floor of the building, and there is no elevator. Also there is no air conditioning in the living room. Besides these two minor downsides me and Rob spent two days of shopping to buy almost everything we need for the apartment. We bought stuff like: Bedsheets, Pillows, Cups, Pans, Boxes, stuff to eat and for in the shower and so on. There was also no connection to the web from my apartment, the guy from China Telecom just connected us 5 minutes ago! So you might see me online after today hehehe.

In the mean time we also did some cool stuff that I will tell you about later. For example we went to a boat party, and it was really awesome. Except for the fact that I god burned all over my shoulders back and belly, but that’s healing already.

This was it for now, see you next time!
